We created several different Halloween t-shirt designs a few months ago. We like to try out a lot of different ideas and then narrow them down to the top sellers. It’s SO interesting that the simple designs/the ones that we do ourselves sell so much better than the ones that we pay designers to design (?!)
The top seller is a simple Freddy Jason Michael Hannibal Norman & Me parody tee that we thought about at dinner. Reggie came up with the idea of highlighting various horror movie villains. Then I researched the top ones and narrowed it down to just 5. I’ll take viewers’ words for the best because I don’t watch scary movies. Visuals stick in my mind! Did I miss your favorite?
The Dia de los Muertos Skull one celebrates the Mexican holiday that honors deceased loved ones/the dead. I only learned about that holiday after watching the Book of Life DVD (affiliate) with the kids a couple of years ago.
The Shine with the Light of Jesus t-shirt was one of the last Halloween tees that we put up but it’s a “top 2” seller. I guess that makes sense because there are many Christians who enjoy Halloween. I wrote a piece on a popular national mom site several years ago called “Should Christians Celebrate Halloween”. Let’s just say that the answers were very spirited. 🙂 Personally, I think that it’s a matter of opinion so it’s an issue of conscience. Simply put…if it bothers you, don’t do it.
Last, but not least, is the Dabbing Skeleton t-shirt. I think that it’s so cute but it has the least sales of these top four. Oh, well…
